N96: in arrivo il firmware 20.050 – disponibile!
Dopo il video pubblicato tre settimane fa che ci mostrava in azione la versione 20.045 , P@sco ci conferma che è in arrivo finalmente il nuovo firmware dell’N96 ma con una numerazione un po’ diversa. Si tratta infatti della release 20.050, di cui è in grado di fornirci anche l’elenco completo dei cambiamenti rispetto alla 12.043 del dicembre 2008.
Quelli più interessanti sono il client di Nokia Messaging (Nokia Email) precaricato, la possibilità di associare azioni all’apertura e chiusura dello slide, il miglioramento della qualità di foto e video, il nuovo music palyer. Se non oggi, comunque a breve, dovrebbe diventare disponibile tramite Nokia Software Updater (NSU) e forse anche via OTA (Over-The-Air). Se diventa disponibile, comunicatecelo nei commenti. New Features
- Email:
- Nokia Email client and Mail for Exchange (MfE) preloaded (User will install and configure email clients with the help of Settings Wizard)
- Settings Wizard 5.0: offers improvements for Nokia Email and MfE setup
- Active Standby Email Plug-in: showing new email messages on Active Standby screen
- Look & Feel:
- Support for Audio Themes: configurable sounds for various events e.g. opening/closing slide, battery low etc
- Setting to allow a slideshow to be used as wallpaper
- Slide handling: Setting to allow user to configure effect opening/closing the slide has on a call and keylock
- Others:
- WiFi Protected Setup is now supported, allowing simplified setup of WLAN security with a supported WLAN access point
- Support of IAD (Independent Application Delivery): Allows certain applications to be updated independently over the air.
Improvements
- Correction for occasional CMLA (Content Management License Administrator) certificate corruption. (These certificates are needed for e.g. Mobile TV and N-Gage license purchases)
- Energy management:
- Shorter lights/screen timeout when lockswitch activated. Backlight dims as soon as keylock is enabled
- Media Keys surrounding the rocker key lit only if a media application is open
- Right Softkey changed from “Hide” to “Exit” for Music Player for EM savings
- Photos/Camera/Imaging:
- A number of improvements made to the Camera image quality
- The device SW version information is now stored in the image MetaData
- Default recording quality for video is changed from ‘TV normal’ to TV high’
- Noise reduction of recorded videos
- Media/DRM:
- New version of Music player: Performance and “Comes With Music”-related improvements
- FlashLite update for improved YouTube compatibility – improvements in rendering of Flash Video
- General Media player &streaming related usability & performance improvements
- OMA DRM v2 content can use device clock if no secure clock (i.e. NITZ) is available
- Browser:
- Empty bookmark folders removed from Browser bookmarks (i.e. the “Download…” folders)
- Link to Ovi.mobi is included in Browser bookmarks
- Others:
- Vibra enabled when charging
- When gaming in landscape mode, stereo audio will be played through correct speakers
- Updated Themes
- Slide triggered keyguard activation: When closing the slide, pressing any key within 2 seconds will result in keylock not being activated
- Several error corrections based on Care and operator feedback
- Several application baseline updates

Quando si installa ti cancella tutto come i vecchi firmware, oppure si installa come se fosse un aggiornamento e ti rimane tutto come prima?

ragazzi ma hanno disattivato il servizio nokia software updater!!!!….e che cavolo…ora che stavo x aggiornare….ho provato su 2 diversi pc e mi è spuntato in entrambi lo stesso errore…
avete provato a collegarlo alla tv??? adesso si vede meglio l’immagine
ma i programmi prcedentemente istallati,rimangono?
Installando il nuovo firmware i dati presenti nel cellulare non vengono modificati, ma per precauzione è sempre meglio fare un backup con PC Suite.

Secondo me si, se il risultato è più velocità miglori foto migliori video penso prorpio che vale la pena aggiornare. Ah!! dimenticavo per colotro che anno perpesslità sul funzionamento dei programmi installati andate tranquilli funziona tutto!!!!! almeno a me si!!
fatto sembra piu veloce alcune pecche che aveva non so ancora se si sono risolte.provero..esempio editor video che non c’era. video suoneria che non andava bene..se qualcuno scopre migliorie o cose nuove..lo dica..

Hello guys, I have tried to update my nokia N96 many time since yesterday, through FOTA from mobile and also from my NSU but it says “NO UPDATES AVAILABE” i put my mobile code to know the currenet version available on nokia site it shows same, my mobile code is 057666., please help me out !!!

At ther moment the new fimrware is available for this NAM product code: 0565998.

Hi alextootchie, one more thing, is it recommandable that I change my product code of NAM to any other reagion like global RM 247?? than I’ll get that firmware, or This version will be released later for NAM? please help me out, bcoz I am having some bugs in it
