iAppCat - you can never have enough sources. For some thing new I am going to go with my pick of the week - and the 1st on my list is iAppCat.

Now iAppcat is not just any repository for the iPod/iPhone

You ever get the feeling that you can’t have enough packages for your new ‘love’?
I know I do, after all there is only so many cups of coffee I can drink in a day while I wait for my sources to refresh.
with this neat & handy web-site I can build my own packages, not only that but it makes it really easy for me to update to my repository using my iPod/iPhone.

Here is how it works (in a nut shell - but one must see it for one self)

Create an account (its free - is there anything better then that?)…
Pick and choose the apps you want for your source file…
Go to you Installer & add one more source to your source list

( the last one you may ever need )

That is it…
From there if you stumble across another app, you can simply search for it on iAppCat and add it to your list (with a touch of a finger)…
Then refresh your list in Installer & it is there for you install

no more typing on your iPod/iPhone when you want to add a new source
like I said may be the last ever source you may need

Neat-O Features:

  1. can search for apps from any of the repository packages they have listed
  2. add newly found repository sources (for review)
  3. view a source link that you are not sure of to see what is in it for applications

Not-O Feature: (side affect)

  1. this in part really cant be blamed on a bad design of iAppCat I think it works the way it should ( and to tell you the truth I don’t mind it)
  2. as soon as youu start mix&maching your apps from different sources one source may have an update for an app that is in your own list so with out checking and making the changes your self you will not get it as an update on your iPod/iPhone…
  3. once again I think this is minor compared to having to wait endless amounts of time for all your sources to update on your (pod)…
  4. the folks @ iAppCat have a fix for this - it’s called there RSS feed
(yes another RSS feed for you to have - after one can have to much RSS feeds one watches)

give-er-a-shot I think you may like it
and yes our own repository is even listed there

- want to read more or just check it out - .
