There are a lot of people currently missing the Fring application for iPhone/iPod 2.x. We are in touch with the devs, since we are hosting the pre-release version of this application in our installer 3 repository, so i will report an email that we get from them:

As always, we are listening to feedback and requests from our users, and we are currently working on developments to provide fring for even more iPhone owners. We are researching and considering various ways of making fring available, including via an application for the Apple Store.

We haven’t yet a launch date but according with us, Fring is expected to be released as soon as Apple will offer the new Push Notification APIs for the 2.1 firmware. Stay Tuned!
