Katra’s Weather HD is an awesome theme for your Lockscreen. To customize it with your town, you need to access through SSH and to edit the “configureMe.js” file in this root: “/Library/Themes/Katra’s Weather HD.theme/Private”. This shows how to:
Open the configureMe.js file by using a Text editor, then change “Boston, Massachusetts” with your town and Country, for example “Rome, Italy”
Now, if you want to change °C in °F you have to edit the 9th row:
var isCelsius = true –> °C
var isCelsius = false –> °F
Save the file and upload it again via SSH in /Library/Themes/Katra’s Weather HD.theme/Private/
Finally you can set the theme by using WinterBoard application.

Love the graphics, but why is the most important information — the city and numerical weather — the tiniest thing on the screen? Bigger font, and I love it a lot more.
If you want to remove the black background, replace the image LockBackground.png with a custom or remove to use the system background.
where’s my “slide to unlock” button
Simtech: If you want the Slide to unlock button , rename or remove the “Folders” folder in the theme ok?
This widget doesn’t drain the battery too much.. or better, you can customize this too.
When you edit the configureMe.js file , at the end of it, you can set the refresh time.
by default it’s every 1 hour, so 60min but you can extend it every day
I love the look of it and the concept, but I really prefer to have my “slide to unlock” bar visible.
If you can re-add that it’ll be perfect.
Why do u need the slide to unlock? If you don’t know how to work an iPhone, throw it away and go home.

I deleted the “Folders” folder in the theme to re-enable to lock slider but now the slider covers the text. What do I need to edit to shift the text up slightly so the lock slider does not cover it?

Good app!! That would be great if we can change the weather data feed. I believe you are using the same source of Weather app on iphone. The data from this feed is incorrect e.g. Hong Kong now is 26C but from the data, it shows 31C…

Changing the Font size is easy.
Edit Katra.css in Private/Stylesheets.
Change the values in font-size (3x).
(font-size: 0.8em;)
Restart your Iphone/Ipod Touch.

backd00r: the weather data are pulled from AccuWeather, as you can see from the ConfigureMe file , but you can change it to yahoo weather too.

To everyone thats annoyed with the theme being above the slider, I found a better solution (for me) than the clear theme:

and open katra.css

love the theme!! One issue, when I have this theme installed and I get a phone call while on the phone…I cannot select “hold + answer”. Only end call is active…It’s really weird, any ideas?

I’ve tried zip and location by name, and got nothing. Connected to wifi.
The theme doesn’t seem to work since upgrading to the new version. I have changed the location as I did previously but the screen constantly says updating. Default works as Boston.

I have the same issue as mr. Crunk. I have tried to correct this myself w/ ssh by changing some of the strings, but I can’t seem to figure it out… Does anyone know how to fix this issue?you cannot answer a new call & place the original one on hold while you have the theme active. You can only end the call your on & answer. This really needs to be adressed in the next update, or someone help w/ a fix. Thanks.
I don’t want to sound stupid, but I am SO confused. All I want to do is change my city and maybe the wallpaper if I’m lucky. I read I have to open this in ssh, then I’m told I need to download something else to do that then something else to work that program…I am on a wild goose chase here! please someone help me! For people who don’t know how to get there city code here is how you can get it.
Step1: Go to http://weather.yahoo.com/
Step2: Say i want to set Bangalore,India. Search for Bangalore in the search field under “Enter city or zip code:”. Say i typed “Bangalore” and press enter.
Step3: You will be taken to a page with the search result with the weather report. Copy the URL:
example: http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/INXX0012.html
and copy the code from it. EG: INXX0012 for bangalore.
Step4: Copy this code and paste it in var locale = “INXX0012″
Step5: Save it and done! Yahoo. If you like it do reply.

If you are using Yahoo for weather then you have to use a ‘locale code’ to identify your location. It will get stuck “Updating” indefinitely if you try to use your city name.
Love the app, but I hae one problem that I cannot figure out how to fix. when I recieve a phone call, the weather pictue appears ontop of the contact picture. How do I get the weathr to only appear on the lock screen?

I’ve got the slide bar, with a custom slider, just have to delete “folder”, and it runs!!!thanx again, waiting for an animated appli, like on HTC Manilla 2D/3D Touchflo…
First.. Ive changed “Folders” to “Folder” and that got the slider back, but what exacly is the purpose of “Folders” in general relation to all themes. I see there is a folder in all ..root/library/themes/(subfolders) but I really dont know how when changing the name of the folder it somehow relates back to resoring the original slider bar…and what would be the consequences of simply removing “Folders”
Second.. I still have the weather graphic overlap my battery when charging.. what can i do about it..
Lastly… will the lockscreen still be tap to answer now or will it be slide to answer again and I suppose I should ask first was tap to answer the default behavior of this app before renaming “Folders”

Hi guys, I am having trouble getting the images to show on the lock screen. I have been successful with the location and temp (Townsville, Queensland, Australia) but no images.

It does work well with the yahoo’s location code. Only my city is not in the list. Are there any other ways or sites that you can use?
