I recently apply the new Firmware 3.0 to my iPhone and then i notice that my battery was draining really bad. Thinking that it was a bug i restore and set up my iPhone as a New Device in Itunes. But the problem was there my battery was draining really fast.
Since i have a subscription to MobileMe i was getting push noitifications of my emails but i was also getting those same push notifications for my other accounts that don’t support push. So i turn off the push service inside the mail, contact, calender and my battery is back to normal. I Hope this gets fix soon. Those anyone has the same problem with their Battery and MobileMe?

When you indicate “Normal”. What exactly are you talking about? Do you turn PUSH off?
Turn Push Email Off
Really? I actually completely restored my phone. My inital upgrade to 3.0+jailbreak brought back a lot of settings from 2.0 that didn’t work. Thinking it is from residue from previous jailbroken settings apps, I completely restored it. Battery life for me improved _A LOT_.
I have:
exchange (so push email) + 3 imap accounts checking every 15 minutes
autobrightness
3G is enabled and used (ATT)
I use the phone for phone calls anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours a day.
I’m having the same issues. It appears my iphone is draining pretty fast. It’s jailbroken, so maybe there’s a glitch so that it displays that the battery power is 40% when it’s actually 80%??
I used to go two full days without charging, now it barely survives from 7am to 7pm….this sucks!
PS/ I turned off PUSH notifications
it’s true, i even tried to make it auto lock out of despration but still no use. Now i’ll try to turn off the push and see what happens, wait for more info after a day or two.
Indeed, same issue (iPhone 2G, 3.0 OS) as long as “PUSH” set to “on” EDGE/carrier netowrk get first priority no matter if wi-fi is on/off and battery get drained quickly (also iPhone is overheating and you can see glitches in 3D games (e.g. RT09 Tennis…)
Currently there is no why to disable completely the EDGE which initiative the request by himself! (due to PUSH…)
Let me know what you think…TIA
Ya this looks to be valid that the battery is draining fast. I thought the problem was with my phone only but now i see its a common problem. The battery is draining down very fast! Also why push be the reason. Apple took so much time for push just to ensure that it dont drains out battery much but this is a total mess
I need push, if upgrading to 3.0 has this problem i will wait till theres a fix. No need for 3.0 for me . More problems with it then its worth. The only reason i would want it is for the MMS working with texting. AT&T is not allowing it any way . I dont see why even do it this soon till all Bugs are fixed 100%, So i am just to happy with 2.2.1 And still happy all my jailbroking stuff works .
